Paint Only Half Of The Walls
Repainting an entire bathroom is a popular way of updating its design but it isn't the only option. A surprisingly chic and stylish trick is simply paint halfway up the bathroom walls. Not only will this be faster and less expensive, but it actually makes the room seem like more work has gone into it.
Typically white or another light neutral color is used for the upper half of the walls. The bottom half can be the existing color, whether it's bright and bold or a calming shade of grey, green or blue.
Update Your Bathroom Counter Accessories
You and your guests will spend most of your time in the bathroom at the sink and counter, which means you'll be looking at that counter space often. A super easy but very effective way of updating the decor of your bathroom is to first reduce all clutter and try to keep everything in drawers or on shelves. The rest of the items, such as hand soap, lotion, cotton swabs and more, should be kept in beautiful containers and jars. Getting rid of store-bought packaging really makes your bathroom look like it came out of a magazine.
There is no excuse for messy drawers. As mentioned before it is best to keep your counter space and vanity as clutter-free as possible, but that means you will really need to maximize spaces in drawers to compensate. Majority of home decor stores will have drawer dividers, sometimes you'll find ones purposely made for the bathroom or you can check the office supply section. Keeping your bathroom drawers as organized as possible may not be an obvious decor trick but it certainly makes a huge difference.
Place A Nightstand By The Bathtub
Repaint a nightstand with a humidity/water-resistant paint for a new life in your bathroom.
When placed by the bathtub, it makes the perfect spot to store some rolled up washcloths, candles, beautiful soaps in a dish and more. Antique or shabby-chic style nightstands painted a bright white look particularly nice.
Replace Towel Bars With Hooks
Towel bars are a fairly standard accessory in most bathrooms but these basic bars don't exactly
look stylish. Instead of replacing with a new bar, remove them and put up towel hooks instead.
Having your towels on a hook and draped naturally looks beautiful, plus it saves you time from
having to fold.
Don't be afraid to experiment with your bathroom. Since this room is typically one of the smallest in the house, it's a great opportunity to really try out your skills as an interior decorator.
